🇮🇹Biografia

D.A.P. (Dark Aries Project) è un progetto/collettivo sperimentale, arricchito di elementi horror, esoterico e distopici, emerso nel 2017 ma che ha guadagnato visibilità principalmente dal 2020 in poi. Creato da Ilinx, chitarrista precedente dei Nænia, Varganath, e musicista di sessione per Walls Of Ashes, il progetto ha completato diversi EP e album, due dei quali hanno ottenuto un modesto successo finora.

Il progetto è nato dall’ idea di voler fare tutto da solo dal momento in cui l’ unico componente si è reso conto di essere troppo elastico nei generi e di non avere troppa pazienza nel collaborare con altre menti.

Sono 5 gli Ep/album che hanno avuto piú seguito, legati tra di loro da una storia contorta e particolare.

The Walk Of The Archons, Project 66 e Ilinx Dream, Echoes Of Oppression, Novus Ordo Ilinx!

I 5 Ep/album sono collegati da argomenti esoterici e sci-fi, legando scienza e spiritualità sotto un unico filone. Nel nuovo album (Mandatory Existence Guidelines) Ilinx viene rinchiuso nelle Backrooms come punizione per essersi ribellato al sistema tirannico di Sophya. Lì incontra Meg (Mandatory Existence Guidelines / linee Guida obbligatorie per l’ esistenza) che all’ inizio sarà la sua guardia personale, ma Ilinx riuscirà a convertirla e ad uscire dalle Backrooms. Sophya viene rappresentata come un pianeta buio e cupo, controllato da un ipotetico Demiurgo. L'album è un mix tra Post Rock, horror, e post metal, con una produzione che mescola moderno, home studio e old school!

🇬🇧Biography
D.A.P. (Dark Aries Project) is an experimental project/collective enriched with horror, esoteric, and dystopian elements. It first emerged in 2017, but gained most of its visibility from 2020 onward. Created by Ilinx — former guitarist of the Nænia, Varganath, and session musician for Walls Of Ashes — the project has completed several EPs and albums, two of which have achieved modest success so far.

The project originated from the desire to do everything solo, as the sole member realized he was too flexible across genres and lacked the patience to collaborate with other minds.

There are five EPs/albums that have had the most following, all connected by a twisted and unique story:
The Walk Of The Archons, Project 66, Ilinx Dream, Echoes Of Oppression, and Novus Ordo Ilinx!

The five EPs/albums are connected through esoteric and sci-fi themes, blending science and spirituality into a single narrative thread.

In the new album, Mandatory Existence Guidelines, Ilinx is imprisoned within the Backrooms as punishment for rebelling against Sophya’s tyrannical system. There, he meets Meg (“Mandatory Existence Guidelines”), who initially serves as his personal guard. However, Ilinx eventually manages to win her over, and together they escape the Backrooms.

Sophya is portrayed as a dark and gloomy planet, controlled by a hypothetical Demiurge. The album is a fusion of post-rock, horror, and post-metal, featuring a production style that blends modern sounds, home studio aesthetics, and old-school influences.
